How to Create Outfits
Making up an outfit can be hard work - if you have clothes but do not know how to wear them, then do not worry! All it takes are a few simple steps.
Make sure you have the basics! For starters, you probably want the following options:
Two or more pairs of dark wash jeans - boot cut, flare, skinny or whatever you like to cut. Jeans are the casual basic basic. They are comfortable, easy to wear and look great.
Neutral pants - black pants, pinstripe pants, khakis or even a pair of white jeans, if you're brave! One or two pairs of it would be great. They go with everything and everything.
A few skirts - try different styles, fabrics and colors. For example, you could have a denim mini, a tweed pencil skirt, and a flowing A-line cotton skirt. Try neutral or easy-to-wear colors - red, blue and purple are great.
Short-sleeved T-shirts - a pair of Basic T-shirts will take you far. Look for colors that you like, with embellishments or patterns or the like - in different cuts like a V-neck, a scoop neck and a boat neckline.
Layering camisoles and / or tank tops - a few of them, or a combination of the two, can add pop to any outfit. Choose colors that are softer for the camisoles, such as pastels or neutral colors. This color scheme could also be suitable for the tank tops - you can also choose bright, funky colors like orange and turquoise for the tanks. (This is mainly for women, but men keep going if you like the idea!)
Long sleeves (pullovers, T-shirts, etc.) - Long-sleeved T-shirts and pullovers are a must for winter and autumn. All colors are great - try to get some neutral colors, but do not be afraid of eye-catching patterns or bright colors.
Cardigans, jackets, hoodies - You want at least one or two cardigans in neutral colors and maybe a few in non-neutral colors if you want. A few jackets, one or two for each season and some hoodies in bright colors (comfortable and very stylish!)
Now arrange your wardrobe! Store the clothing categories listed above in a separate compartment or keep track of them. There is nothing worse than knowing what you want to wear and can not find.
Get accessories! Scarves, jewelry, belts, sunglasses - this can really make your outfits pop. Try a mix of different materials - for example, do not buy all the pieces of gold jewelery, but also get silver, enamel, wood or glass pieces.
Great! Now we can start with the actual outfits - here are a few basic rules:
Mix textures! Outfits should be against it - for example, a cashmere cardigan with cotton T-shirt and tweed skirt: This outfit has three very different textures. Textures can be just as visual as colors. When in doubt, go lighter - allover cotton or silk is far more pleasing to the eye than a wool shirt, pullover and skirt.
Games with patterns! Patterns can do wonders. Suppose you have a great upper body, but are a little self-conscious about your lower half - no problem! Wear a lighter and patterned top with a neutral bottom. That pulls the view upwards. Be careful, if you have a larger frame, you can work wider with horizontal frames. Also try to stick to a patterned piece per outfit - more than that, and things will get a bit too loud.
Do not go together! Never worry too much about whether your outfit is terrible just because you're wearing two different shades of blue. You do not have to match the colors exactly - they just have to be in the same color palette! A sky blue top would look better with a dark blue cardigan than a cardigan in the same color. This is because CONTRAST is more attractive to the human eye. Do not be shy to mix different colors! Choose bold colors like orange and teal, red and navy, or green and yellow. But make sure that your colors do not fight with each other. Try to dominate one of them (for example, an orange necklace with a blue top - there's definitely more blue in the outfit, so do not bother).
Layer, Layer, Layer! Layering outfits helps to accentuate your figure. It gives your body structure and visual interest and helps to expand the possibilities of your wardrobe.
Take note of your silhouette! Depending on your shape, clothing may not be nice to you. For wider hips a skirt with A-line would work
